Despite the overcast skies, Race Street in Bristol Borough shone with the promise of a more stable, hope-filled future last Tuesday for two families, as Habitat Bucks celebrated our newest first-time homebuyers.
Many voices lifted up Dalia and Kim during the ceremony, each emphasizing the strength they bring to their individual families and the perseverance they showed in seeing this project through to completion. Florence Kawoczka, CEO of Habitat Bucks, shared what an honor it was to present the keys to “two women who have stayed committed to the idea of homeownership, to have a place where roots can take hold, where their children can thrive in a place that is safe and has room to grow, and is already your home because you’ve lived in Bristol before.”
Alongside more than 160 on-site volunteers contributing over 2,100 hours, Dalia and Kim completed almost a fifth of that labor themselves, resulting in two newly constructed three-bedroom homes where they can raise their beautiful families.
Congratulations again to both Dalia and Kim. Welcome home!
