At 65 and living alone, Cynthia had proudly owned her home for over 30 years. What a shock it was to be awakened on a cold February night by the sound of her carbon monoxide alarm. Upon their arrival, the fire department determined her furnace was leaking deadly gas, requiring her to leave her home immediately and to stay away until the repairs were completed. She reached out to Habitat Bucks for help.

Recognizing the situation as dire, the Home Repair Team coordinated with a local emergency repair specialist, who promptly made repairs to both the furnace and boiler. Cynthia’s home was made safe again and a potentially tragic situation was averted, thanks to the Leff Family Foundation and the availability of Safe at Home funding through Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.
