Give a hand up to your neighbor
Esther’s Story
Esther has lived in Bristol for more than 40 years. This is where she worked and raised her family. Her husband took care of everything for her home, but Esther has been a widow for many years and has had to get by on her own. Struggling with multiple health conditions and limited income, she is at risk of losing the home where all her memories live.
Esther’s situation became critical when her home’s aging pipes collapsed and raw sewage backed up into the house. She couldn’t afford the repairs, so she called Habitat Bucks. We were able to bring in a plumber right away to fix the problem.
She still needs help to make critical repairs to her electrical system, as well as safety modifications like installing railings and grab bars. With Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, these are easy fixes and Esther will repay an affordable amount—just a fraction of the cost. But we need your help to make it happen.
When you donate to Habitat Bucks, your dollars go straight to work in our community. You make it possible for seniors to retain their independence and remain safely in their own homes. All it takes is a little generosity…or as we like to call it, a hand up.
