Rosalind has been on a nearly forty-year journey home. During the last 27 years, she lived in subsidized public housing in multiple locations. Along the way she opened her heart to more than 300 foster children and adopted 12. In 2014, Rosalind saw a flyer for Habitat’s Homeownership program at the community center where she worked and she began the final leg of her journey home. She worked hard to improve her credit, started building up savings and purchased her home with an affordable mortgage.

Along with five of her children, Rosalind celebrated the dedication of their new Habitat home in July 2017.

A Habitat Bucks home is a hand-up, not a hand-out. Heather earned the keys to her house by participating in homebuyer education programs and investing over 200 hours of sweat equity building alongside Habitat staff and community volunteers. She purchased her house with an affordable mortgage. 

The excitement was palpable as George and Lucy helped break ground on their future home in Croydon on March 31, 2015, along with Bucks County Commissioner Chairman, Robert Loughery, and many other dignitaries, sponsors and supporters.

Brian and Vicki broke ground on their future home–Habitat Bucks’ 100th Home–on June 25, 2014, surrounded by generous sponsors, local dignitaries and Habitat Bucks leaders. They are pictured above left with Executive Director, Florence Kawoczka, and Board President, Heath Dumack, at the ground-breaking ceremony.
