Throughout
the year, Habitat for Humanity and organizations all over Bucks
County work together
to build affordable houses with people in need.
Habitat homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor,
called “sweat equity,” into building their houses
and the houses of others. Homeowners’ mortgage payments
go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more
houses.
How do organizations
–with larger numbers of members- typically get involved?
Usually through sponsorships initiated by a single
individual. A sense of urgency to answer a call for help often
moves organizations to act. The person who will not let up until
the job is done is often the spark that is used to provide decent
shelter for a family in need. Are you that person? Are you being
moved to call your organization to action? Do not let obstacles
like “we’re too small or too busy” stand in
your way. Organizations of all sizes can support Habitat’s
important work either on their own or in partnership with others.
Below are a few options to consider. There’s bound to be
one that’s right for you.

House
Sponsorships
Various organizations sponsor houses by providing a combination
of direct funding, in-kind donations of materials and services,
and volunteer labor. House sponsors include faith-based communities,
corporations large and small, organizations, membership associations
and foundations. In many cases, several sponsors combine resources
to fund one complete home.
Full House Sponsorship $100,000
One of the most rewarding parts of a house sponsorship is the
ability to work alongside a partner family. Your full house sponsorship
not only allows you to do that, but also pays for the land, infrastructure,
materials and labor costs associated with building the three bedroom
home for the family with whom you will be partnering. Many recognition
opportunities are a part of this sponsorship, including on-site
signage, media recognition, and participation in the home dedication
ceremony.
House Build Sponsorship $60,000
Your ability to support a partner family does not diminish should
you choose this sponsorship level. This sponsorship covers the
costs for materials and labor associated with building the three
bedroom home for the family with whom you will be partnering.
As with the Full House Sponsor, volunteer support is welcomed,
and similar recognition opportunities are provided. When a house
is not fully sponsored, an opportunity for other partial sponsors
to make up the difference is always created.

Day
Sponsorship
Provide the funds to ensure proper supervision, materials and
site preparation for your build day on the construction site while
taking advantage of valuable advertising opportunities and a team-building
environment. Rates are scaled according to group size to account
for the fact that larger groups necessitate increased resources.
A non-profit rate is also offered. Day sponsorship rates for 2007
are as follows:
Number of volunteers — Standard rate/Non-profit
rate:
1-10 people — $1500/$1000
11-15 people — $2500/$2000
16-20 people — $3500
