Habitat Bucks Partners with Central Bucks Rotary for A Brush With Kindness in Doylestown
Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County Partners with Central Bucks Rotary on A Brush with Kindness Project
In an effort to serve more people in Bucks County, Habitat Bucks launched A Brush with Kindness in July 2011. This program partners our construction expertise with sponsors and volunteers from the community, to do needed exterior repairs for low-income homeowners.
Saturday, February 4, 2012 members of the Central Bucks Rotary will be sponsoring A Brush with Kindness project in Doylestown. Members of the Central Bucks Rotary will provide funds and volunteers for this project. “We are thrilled to be working with the Central Bucks Rotary as a part of their Rotobuild program, and value the commitment they share to improve the living conditions of people in Bucks County said Florence Kawoczka, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. Habitat Bucks is committed to affordable housing, which includes helping people maintain their homes, thereby strengthening neighborhoods and entire communities. Home Ownership Interest Meeting
Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County is hosting a Homeownership Interest Meeting
for a possible home-building project in the Sellersville-Perkasie area in upper Bucks
County. Persons interested in affordable homeownership are invited to attend to
learn about Habitat’s mission and processes. As well as construction details,
program qualifications will be discussed. The meeting is being held on Saturday,
February 11, 2012 at 10 am at St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill
Avenue, Perkasie, PA. Registration is required by February 8. Please register by

On Tuesday, January 10, 2012 a groundbreaking ceremony will be held to mark the start of construction on our next Habitat home. Bucks County Commissioners and Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick will have shovels in hand as we begin building. You, your friends, family and neighbors are invited to join us at 3:00 p.m. for a brief program and ceremonial first shovel. Celebrate with us as we continue to make affordable housing a reality in Bucks County.
Driving directions:
From PA Turnpike East
Take the last exit in PA before the bridge to NJ (Bristol/ Rt. 13).
Take Rt. 13 north exit ramp to Rt. 13
Make a Left on to Green Lane (1ST Light and WAWA on corner).
Take Green Lane to Elwood Avenue and make a Left (1st road on your left).
Take Elwood Avenue to Norton Avenue and make a Right (1st road on your right).
Take Norton Avenue to Watson Avenue and make a Left (1st road on your left).
The project is at the end of Watson Avenue (dead ends at Plymouth Avenue) on your right.
Parking will be on Plymouth Avenue across from the site.
Habitat Bucks Honors MLK Day 2012 with Food Drive
Headline: Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County Conducts Food Drive in Honor of Martin Luther King Day 2012
In honor of Martin Luther King Day 2012, Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County is conducting a food drive to benefit the New Britain Baptist Church Food Larder. The public is invited to drop off their food, cleaning items, and toiletries in the Habitat Bucks ReStore, located at 31 Oak Avenue, Chalfont, PA. For any donation of two or more items, Habitat Bucks will give donors a 20% coupon for use in the ReStore. A complete list of much needed items as well as ReStore hours can be found on the Habitat Bucks website at www.habitatbucks.org.
The New Britain Baptist Church Food Larder provides food for families and individuals in need, and is operated by volunteers. Their location is Route 202 and Tamenend Avenue, New Britain, and is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 – Noon, and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
