Faith Relations
Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County brings individuals, families and communities together to build affordable homes with those in need. We are a Christian ministry that calls on all people regardless of religious preference or cultural background to make safe, simple, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action in Bucks County.
Episcopal Church Build
The Episcopal Church Build project will bring together 13 Episcopal Churches in the Bucks County area to build a home in partnership with a low-income family. We're very grateful to the Bucks County Episcopal Churches for coming together to demonstrate their faith in such a powerful and practical manner. The home, located at 1423 Colonial Avenue will be known as, "the home the Episcopalians built."
To celebrate this exciting and inspiring project, we will be hosting a celebration breakfast followed by a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the future home, on Saturday, June 12:
- Breakfast: 9am-10am, St. Andrew’s Church, 47 West Afton Avenue, Yardley PA, 19067
- Groundbreaking : 11:00am-11:30am, 1423 Colonial Avenue, Bristol PA, 19007

Faith in Action
Our very first Youth Faith Build Day was great!
Youth Faith Build is a week set aside for students ages 16-22 to come together and build a home, a future and their faith. Imagine coming together as students to serve those in need, be challenged in your faith and enjoy evening activities with new friends. Each day, we’ll meet at the Habitat for Humanity offices in Chalfont, and then break up to do different projects including constructions on homes, working in the ReStore and serving in our community.
Sports are limited, so register today! Total cost is $250 which includes meals, evening activities and materials. Prizes will be awarded to youth who raise $500 and $1,000. Only 25 spots are available; $75 deposit due with registration.
Evening Programs
July 14: pizza buffet, paintball, go carts and laser tag
July 15: cheesesteaks, Trenton Thunder vs. Reading Phillies game
July 16: Habitat for Humanity picnic, ultimate Frisbee, night of worship
Spiritual Focus
The spiritual focus for the 2010 Youth Faith Build Week will center on the parables that Jesus taught in the New Testament. From the ideas of faith to the focus of materialism, we will look at ways that Jesus taught those around Him through parables.

Faith Relations Opportunities
Help raise the roof at our Perkasie building site!
Donations have been flowing in since announcing a “Building by Faith campaign for our Perkasie homebuilding project, The Stitchery -- and they're by the foot. Every square foot of our newest and most unique project to date is up for sponsorship at $115 each, with 1,000 square feet in all.
We would like to invite you to consider being a part of this Building by Faith campaign! Our amazing faith partners have already raised 220 square feet in 2009, with donations that range as small as 10 square feet, to as large as 192 square feet. The goal is to raise $115,000 for one unit at The Stitchery by the end of 2009, and we are asking each faith community to consider a square foot commitment. We're hoping to welcome 25 faith groups in upper Bucks County to the building of one home through this campaign. In these times, what better place to invest then in your own community?
A home with Habitat for Humanity means stability and security for a family, and with our Christian commitment, we believe that a home's walls, paint, concrete and carpet allow us to live out the gospel message where faith and deeds intersect. Would you be willing to join us and together we can make an eternal difference by providing families with a decent, affordable home? Contact Billy today to get involved, b.dunn@habitatbucks.org or 215.822.2812 x316!

“One of the signs of a healthy congregation is that members can look beyond themselves and look toward others. I think Habitat provides an excellent way to do that.
