Since 2001, Habitat for Humanity has built 70 affordable homes in Bucks County. Three key resources are necessary in order to continue making our distinctive homeownership program a reality for families: volunteers, funds and advocacy; also known as an act, a give and a share. Currently, each home Habitat builds in Bucks County requires a commitment of 2,000 volunteer hours (Act!), financial contributions averaging $4,250 per day (Give!) and the dedication of innumerable individuals speaking on behalf of the program (Share!).
Habitat relies strictly on the generosity and commitment of our neighbors and partner families to provide these resources and to make safe, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action in our community.
As a donor and partner, we understand that you want to support causes in ways that also support your own beliefs and purposes, are recognizable within the community and that have proven success. Habitat for Humanity understands this need for a mutually beneficial relationship and works to identify and establish truly one-of-a-kind partnerships. For every dollar you give to Habitat Bucks, 74 cents goes toward programs including construction, family support and community outreach; 10 cents is tithed to help build homes around the world; and 16 cents is used for administrative costs.
Ways to Donate to Habitat for Humanity
Throughout the year, Habitat for Humanity works together with companies, organizations and individuals all over Bucks County to build affordable houses with people in need. Because we have such a wide variety of engaging and exciting programs, we're uniquely positioned to tailor every partnership to reach its member’s specific goals. > Endowment/Planned Gift: As you plan for your future and the security of loved ones, Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County has numerous planned giving options that allow you to make a meaningful charitable gift to support homebuilding after your lifetime. Leave a legacy of transformation! Click below to download a planned giving information sheet, which includes specific ideas and specifications.
> Homeownership Program Partnerships: Sponsor Habitat’s homeownership program by providing a combination of direct funding, in-kind donations of materials and services and volunteer labor to support the construction of a home. Sponsors include faith-based communities, corporations, small businesses, membership associations and foundations.
> Build Day Partnerships: Organizations both large and small enjoy the idea of sponsoring a single workday on site for their group.
> Fund for Humanity: A much needed area of support, un-designated donations are used to
support our ongoing operations.
> Events and Programs: Designate your gift for a specific purpose such as Family Support, 5K Run, Women Build or Neighbor to Neighbor.
> Tribute Gifts: Honor or memorialize a loved one with a gift to Habitat for Humanity! A letter of thanks will be sent to both you and the honoree or honoree's family; acknowledgement will also be posted on our Tribute Listing page, in our Coming Home newsletter, and in our annual report.
> Gifts-In-Kind: Donations of new and gently used supplies allow us to build more homes, keep our costs down and stock our ReStore. Your in-kind gift is important to us, whether it be professional services such as accounting, printing, carpentry or direct gifts of materials.
